Suicide Prevention Workshop with QPR and CALM

  • 2700 Meacham Boulevard Fort Worth, TX, 76137 United States (map)

Cost: $40 and CEU’s available

This 4-hour workshop is designed for clinicians and school counselors committed to deepening their suicide prevention skills. The training begins with QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), a proven intervention that helps participants recognize warning signs, engage someone in crisis, and connect them to help. Building on the foundation of QPR, the workshop then introduces CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means)—an essential next step in preventing suicide. CALM provides practical guidance on how to have effective, collaborative conversations about reducing access to firearms, medications, and other lethal means during a suicidal crisis. Because suicidal crises are often brief, lethal means restriction can be the difference between life and death. This training equips professionals with the tools to take action that saves lives. firearms and dangerous medications during times of heightened suicide risk.
